Set the string once
utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, and custom pairs live on the launch, so every ad in the batch inherits the same structure.
UTM parameters
Stop pasting utm_source into fifty Ads Manager rows. Define URL tags once, apply them at launch, and override a single ad when a test needs its own campaign name.
utm_source=admanage&utm_medium=paid_social&utm_campaign={adset}&utm_content={filename}The same string can sit on Meta, TikTok, and Google launches from one workspace, with a per-row override when a test needs its own campaign name.
Tracking at launch
The tag is part of the ad, not a follow-up
What it does
utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, and custom pairs live on the launch, so every ad in the batch inherits the same structure.
A creative test can carry a different campaign tag. The other 49 ads keep the default.
Ad names stay filterable in Ads Manager. UTMs stay filterable in analytics. Both are launch settings, not habits.
Why this exists
If three ads in a 40-ad test ship without UTMs, the channel report undercounts the test. The tag has to be applied at publish.
The same URL field, forty times, is how typos enter analytics. A launch template is the only version that stays consistent.
How it runs
Use the same UTM string your reporting already expects.
Every new ad gets the tags at publish. No post-launch spreadsheet.
Change one row for a named test, then launch.
