Safe-zone sizes & how to use the guide
What is the Instagram Reels safe zone?
It is the part of a vertical creative where essential text, logos and other key elements are less likely to be covered or cropped. Meta's current diagram marks the top 14%, both side edges at 6%, and the bottom 35%. On a 1080×1920 canvas, those boundaries are about 269 px at the top, 65 px at either side and 672 px at the bottom. These are design guides, not a guarantee for every device.
How to use the safe-zone template
Choose a local image or video, then keep your headline, product details and CTA inside the blue boundary. The full background can extend to the edges. This preview contains the entire asset rather than silently cropping it. For a non-9:16 file, prepare a vertical version in your editor before relying on the overlay. Download a transparent PNG or SVG guide to place above a 1080×1920 artboard in a design editor.
Check disclaimers and the final placement
Meta asks advertisers using disclaimers in Reels ads to leave the bottom 40% clear of key creative elements. Switch on the disclaimer option to use that stricter boundary. Interface elements and cropping can vary by placement and screen shape. Before launch, use the Safe Zone guardrail in Meta Ads Manager and inspect the relevant placement previews.

Common questions
Does this tool upload or publish my creative?
No. The selected file is previewed locally using your browser. This tool does not send the file to AdManage, Meta or another service, and it does not publish an ad.
What size should an Instagram Reels ad be?
This tool uses a vertical 9:16 canvas, with a downloadable guide at 1080×1920. Check Meta's current requirements for your exact format, objective and placement before exporting the final ad.
Can I use this for Stories, TikTok or YouTube Shorts?
The overlay follows Meta's Reels ad guidance. Other placements and platforms can have different interface overlays. Use the appropriate platform preview rather than treating one safe-zone template as universal.
Does passing the safe zone guarantee ad approval?
No. This is a visual planning guide. It does not check ad policies, rights, legibility, encoding or final delivery cropping, and it does not provide approval from Meta.
