Charity creative guide
Connect the appeal to a specific action
Charity campaigns can ask for an immediate donation, regular support or participation in an event. Compare how the creative explains the need and the action the viewer can take. A campaign about one emergency may tell a different story from an ongoing program.
Read suggested amounts alongside what the organization says they support. Check whether a contribution is one-off or recurring, and how the destination explains the use of funds. Compelling imagery should be considered with that context rather than used alone to judge an appeal.
Creative angles to compare
- 01
A clear explanation of the need and the action the organization is asking someone to take.
- 02
Specific descriptions of how support is used, with amounts and timeframes kept in context.
- 03
A visible distinction between a one-off donation, regular giving and an awareness campaign.
